Procurement Planning and Strategy

  • Make-or-Buy Analysis and strategic outsourcing decisions
  • Developing the comprehensive Procurement Management Plan
  • Determining the optimal contract type (Fixed-Price, Cost-Reimbursable, T&M)
  • Defining the scope of work (SOW) and procurement documents

 

DAY 2

Conducting Procurements and Source Selection

  • Preparation of solicitation documents (RFP, RFQ, ITB) and evaluation criteria
  • Managing the solicitation process and pre-bid conferences
  • Source Selection: Technical, commercial, and financial evaluation methodologies
  • Techniques for vendor pre-qualification and shortlisting
  • Negotiating to achieve the final contract agreement

 

DAY 3

Contract Administration in Projects

  • Contract award, mobilization, and establishing the performance baseline
  • Implementation of the contract administration system and document control
  • Managing contractor and supplier performance and quality assurance
  • Techniques for effective communication and documentation of correspondence
  • Managing conflicts and performance issues according to contractual terms

Change Control and Risk Management

  • The formal process for Change Order Management and contract variations
  • Analyzing and mitigating project risks allocated to the contractor
  • Managing schedule delays, extensions of time (EOT), and liquidated damages
  • Claims identification, documentation, and prevention strategies
  • Ensuring ethical and legal compliance in contract execution

 

DAY 5

Contract Closure and Lessons Learned

  • Performance review and final acceptance of deliverables
  • The formal process of Contract Closeout and administrative settlement
  • Managing warranty periods and final payments
  • Updating organizational process assets and documenting lessons learned from procurement
