Earned Value Management (EVM) Deep Dive

  • Review of EVM core concepts: Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), Actual Cost (AC)
  • Calculating and interpreting performance indices: CPI (Cost Performance Index) and SPI (Schedule Performance Index)
  • EVM variance analysis: CV (Cost Variance) and SV (Schedule Variance)
  • Practical exercise: Calculating EVM metrics from project data
  • Integrating risk tracking with EVM performance data

 

DAY 3

Forecasting and Estimate at Completion (EAC)

  • Techniques for accurate forecasting of project completion date and cost
  • Methods for calculating Estimate at Completion (EAC) based on performance to date
  • Calculating Estimate to Complete (ETC) and To Complete Performance Index (TCPI)
  • Analyzing trends and identifying the most likely outcome at project completion
  • Strategic use of EVM data for management decision-making

 

DAY 4

Change Control and Quality Monitoring

  • Designing and implementing a formal Integrated Change Control process
  • Configuration management: Controlling versions of deliverables and documentation
  • Quality assurance vs. Quality control: Inspecting, auditing, and validating deliverables
  • Monitoring and evaluating risk responses and residual risk
  • Managing stakeholder expectations and communication of project status

 

DAY 5

Reporting, Evaluation, and Lessons Learned

  • Designing clear and effective Project Dashboards and status reports
  • Performance evaluation techniques and post-implementation review
  • Formal project closeout procedures and capturing final performance data
