• Contract Selection: Matching project risk profile and scope definition to the appropriate FIDIC form
• Defining the core roles: The Employer, the Contractor, and the pivotal role of the Engineer
• Introduction to key common clauses (e.g., General Provisions, Communications)

DAY 2

The Role of the Engineer and Time Management

• The Engineer's duties, authority, and impartiality under the Red and Yellow Books
• Procedures for managing and issuing Instructions and Approvals
• Time Management: Commencement, time for completion, and extensions of time (EOT) procedures
• Dealing with delay and disruption under the FIDIC framework
• Understanding the consequences of the Engineer's failure to act

DAY 3

Payment, Measurement, and Variations

• Procedures for measurement, valuation, and certification of payments
• Managing Variations (Changes): Instruction, submission, valuation, and agreement
• Understanding and applying the Contract Price Adjustment clauses (escalation)
