  • Pumps, compressors, valves, and piping systems
  • Heat exchangers, reactors, separators, and storage vessels
  • Filtration, distillation, absorption, extraction
  • Exercise: Reading and interpreting PFDs and P&IDs

 

DAY 3

Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer & Fluid Flow

  • Basic thermodynamic principles
  • Energy balances and the First Law of Thermodynamics
  • Introduction to heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation
  • Heat exchangers: types and applications
  • Basics of fluid flow in pipes and fittings
  • Pressure drops and flow measurement

Mass Transfer, Separation Processes & Reactions

  • Mass transfer basics: diffusion, mass flux, and driving forces
  • Overview of separation processes: distillation, absorption, stripping
