- COURSE OVERVIEW

This course provides participants with a solid foundation in the geological principles and processes that control the formation, accumulation, and discovery of petroleum. It covers the origin of hydrocarbons, sedimentary processes, stratigraphy, structural geology, reservoir and seal characteristics, and geological risk evaluation. Participants will learn how petroleum systems work and how geological data, such as well logs, seismic, outcrops, and cores, are used to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon prospects.
